CARE International UK is part of a global humanitarian organisation delivering life-saving aid and long-term development programmes in over 100 countries. Focused on empowering women and girls, CARE works to combat poverty and injustice through community-led initiatives, advocacy, and emergency response.
We were brought on board by CARE to redesign and redevelop their UK website with the goal of increasing donations, improving user engagement, and providing a better platform for communicating their mission and impact. Their previous site was built on an outdated CMS, with limited flexibility and a disjointed user experience – particularly on mobile devices. Content management was time-consuming, and the donation process lacked clarity and efficiency.
Collaborating closely with CARE’s digital team, we delivered a modern, user-focused Drupal site that streamlined supporter journeys, strengthened brand storytelling, and empowered internal teams to manage content with ease.
The client’s primary objectives included:
- Improving user experience and donation journeys
We created an intuitive, responsive design with simplified navigation and clear pathways for users to learn about CARE’s work, take action, and donate. The new structure supports multiple user types – from first-time visitors to long-time supporters—while ensuring accessibility across all devices. - Flexible content management
The new Drupal build features a flexible, component-based editing system that allows CARE’s team to create pages, publish updates, and manage campaigns with minimal technical input. This agility supports fast responses to humanitarian crises and evolving organisational priorities. - Boosting donations and supporter engagement
We redesigned the donation experience to be faster, clearer, and more persuasive. Optimised forms, clear calls to action, and messaging tailored to different donor types all contribute to stronger conversion rates and deeper engagement. - Strengthening brand identity and storytelling
We introduced a vibrant, mission-led design with strong visual storytelling. Photography, case studies, and impact statistics are used strategically throughout the site to build trust and emotional connection with users. - Supporting internal efficiency
To help CARE manage the site effectively in-house, we delivered training, documentation, and a back-end interface built for ease of use. This reduced ongoing support costs and empowered the team to focus on communications and fundraising.
